January 10, 2019Make Noise in ElecFreaks New Sections: Forum and Projects
January 10, 2019ElecFreaks will launch a multi-axis unmanned helicopter series:
ELF. As the name suggests, this series will be surprisingly tiny. Aimed to design a very compact, portable, able to fly in any place multi-axis helicopter, we will use smart phones app (must support Bluetooth 4.0) instead of remote control. Smaller also means more security and therefore would be more suitable for various occasions and people. If you are a child, this helicopter will be like any other toy of yours. Like always, we will open source all the information. If you are an advanced gamer, this helicopter will be perfect for research and development. If you are just a junior gamer who don’t care details that much, it’s totally ok, ELF got novice mode to allow press-one-key takeoff. Check out Drone ELF First Successful Trial Flight

Ok, well, you may think: what’s the big deal? See, it’s just a compact-sized helicopter, sounds no difference with any other copter in the world. We really got something awesome, stunning and shocking. We are ball rolling on carrying out a very interesting function of it, that is, make it combined with virtual reality technology. But how? I guess it’s better to leave some suspense. Just imagine, if the quad helicopter is equipped with a camera to shoot videos, which are sent back in real time, er, sounds familiar? The highlight is, this system will cooperate with the VR cardboard launched not long ago, that’s it! You will experience the most realistic effect FPV, which, if compared with the traditional FPV just owning 2D visual effect, overweighs significantly due to its fantastic 3D scenes. At this stage, we have completed the initial prototype design: ELF has been able to take functional flights. The Android APP also has a preliminary framework. We have been in active negotiations with camera vendors. It is expected two months later, all envision functions will be achieved as scheduled and hope to launch a beta version for all testers. See you soon~~
